Sliding doors for mass transit (S3)
Principle:
The door leaf slides along either the outside (STA) or the inside (STI) of the vehicle, in both cases taking up room that could be available to the passengers.
The drives used are mainly electrical; however, pneumatic drives are also available.
Advantages:
Simple system, short opening and closing times
Range of application:
Used on metros and shuttle trains, if there are no critical ambient requirements - used mainly in Asia and in the USA.
