Sliding plug doors for high-speed trains (DET)
Principle:
In the closed position, the door is flush with the outside of the car. In the initial opening stage, it moves outwards and then slides along the car body. This system offers in addition a high sealing performance against air pressure fluctuations.
Advantage:
Pressure tightness is achieved without inflatable seals that have certain disadvantages such as slow inflation and as a consequence delayed opening, risk of damage, loss of the full sealing performance in case of leakage. In these respects, the system has proved to be very effective.
Range of application:
On high-speed trains up to 350 km/h in countries such as France, Spain, Italy, Germany, the Czech Republic, Slovenia, Greece, Great Britain and others.
